Baking Recipes
The Viral “TikTok Pasta” – Baked Feta Pasta
Baked Feta Pasta is the viral recipe that took the internet by storm in early 2021. #FetaPasta has over 1 Billion views on TikTok and has inspired millions of re-creations. Finnish food blogger, Jenni Häyrinen, is credited with creating the original recipe (first shared on Instagram). The recipe became so popular in Finland that it caused the grocery stores to run out of Feta Cheese.
Popular creator Feel Good Foodie (@feelgoodfoodie) shared their version of the recipe on TikTok and soon went viral. Since posting the original TikTok video on January 28, 2021 it has been viewed over 15.2 million times and is one of top-liked videos in the #FetaPasta trend.
Recipe:
If you haven’t tried it already, here’s what you’ll need to make the famous “TikTok Pasta” for yourself:
- 8oz of Pasta (your choice)
- 2 pints of Cherry Tomatoes
- 8oz block of Feta Cheese
- Extra Virgin Olive Oil
- Salt & Pepper
- Minced Garlic
- ¼ Cup of Chopped Basil
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400℉. Place your cherry tomatoes in an oven-safe baking dish. Cover the tomatoes with a generous amount of olive oil. Season with salt and pepper. Mix until well combined and all the tomatoes are coated with oil.
- Place the block of feta in the middle of the baking dish (surrounded by the tomatoes). Cover the feta with a little more olive oil and more salt and pepper.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 35 minutes or until the tomatoes have burst and the feta cheese has melted.
- While your tomatoes and feta are in the oven, cook the pasta according to package instructions. Drain the pasta once it’s finished cooking.
- Once your tomatoes and feta are cooked, add the fresh basil and minced garlic. Mix until well combined.
- Add your cooked pasta to the baking dish and mix everything until all the pasta is coated with the tomato and cheese sauce.
The best part about this recipe is that it is easy to make and is open to interpretation! Feel free to add different seasonings, herbs, and as much (or as little) olive oil as you want.
